How did I get here? I learned conventional graphics as a typesetter/keyline artist at the First National Bank of Chicago. Attended the Art Institute part time and really got into etchings. Moved to Newport Beach CA in the early 70's, worked at Fluor Corp and met the best group of friends ever (hello Ski Pigs)! Did some local art fairs selling my etchings. Moved to San Francisco in the early 80's and worked at Chartmasters, add on more fabulous friends ever! Moved back to Chicago in 1988, was lucky to keep on working in the AV world and once again met the best friends ever, plus my significant other, X (aka Chris Bradford)! Lived at 3730 N. Sheffield Avenue, 1/2 block north of the bleachers and were Cub Season Ticket holders for 7 years. Shout out to JimLa, our Wrigley clown/bartender and the fabulous Dorothy Farrell, We will never forget the fun times at the Stadium Club!

A long time ago in a land far far away (Chicago)…

In 1995, we made the “best move ever” to Phoenix Arizona when the Diamondbacks were awarded the franchise. Bought a condo in downtown Phoenix (8 blocks from BOB), Got a job at the City of Phoenix, and of course we were DBack Season Ticket holders. Add on more best friends forever! Started making signs (made over 120) to cheer on our Dbacks and the guys in the broadcast booth nicknamed me the "SignLady". Figuring out which signs to bring was my game day ritual. Was on TV alot during games, in a few commercials, morning shows on opening days, on a banner downtown, their magazine and more.

Retired from the city in 2014, and started fiddling' around with mixed media on canvas. My style then and now are so different. Health wise, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Aug 2019, had a left breast mastectomy 2 months later and all is good. I can't say enough about early detection!

We moved to Imperial Beach (“2nd best move ever”) in 2021. I've been very lucky in my graphic design career since day one and although I have moved around alot, I’ve been lucky to have many lifelong friendships and memories. These life experiences are probably how I ended up happily retired in this cool little beach town. Doing art calls, crafts fairs, displaying my art at local businesses and public spaces keeps me inspired! Sharing my artwork with all is fun, rewarding and I love it. Indeed I am a very lucky Penny!
